If you try things out with the the horse before you decide, you'll likely get a horse that's right for you. You'll be able to watch and learn the horse's overall temperament and demeanor, too.

- Look over the registration papers to be sure that they match the horse. Many people neglect this important step. While normally, there are mostly honest and trustworthy dealers there, you can get a bad one here and there. So look over those papers.
